The project aims to develop tools for effective decision-making regarding prevention, healthcare provision, social care in the Czech Republic, and delivery of interventions addressing lifestyle diseases.

With European populations aging, the burden of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) is expected to increase, despite decreases in disease incidence in the absence of effective disease-modifying therapies. Making predictions of future trends and understanding their implications for individuals, families, health systems, and government programs is a challenging task. This project will introduce a new ADRD module to the European Future Elderly Model (EUFEM) dynamic microsimulation model, incorporating key risk factors (e.g. trends in sociodemographic factors, health risk factors, medical innovations) likely to affect the prevalence of ADRD.

The school is organized over three days at Villa Mondragone, in Monteporzio Catone. Each morning is devoted to lectures. Afternoons will feature presentations of alternative perspectives, from the viewpoint of the structure of property rights, taxation regimes, social justice. No background is required, although familiarity with analytical reasoning may help.

the consortium’s research will use longitudinal cohorts and biobanks spanning the entire life course to explore how a person ages with multi-morbidity, which means having two or more long-term health conditions, and how it could be prevented.

Exposures to the environment such as air and noise pollution and social situation react with genetic factors. With an ‘exposome’ approach we study and measure how exposure to these environmental factors contribute to the risk of developing diseases through a person’s life.
